Wine business transformation
Wine business transformation
You pay for what you need, when you need it. It’s an affordable way to add a deep knowledge of all the complexities that influence supply and demand in the wine industry to your business, and to team up with someone who has the skill, experience, and ability to align resources, operations, and human capital successfully.
Rich Hanen, CEO of Acting GM, provides the analysis and advice you need to set goals that make good sense. He tells you what you need to hear, even if it’s not what you want to hear. He works with you to make a plan and then he accompanies you through every step of the process. He maintains that which makes your wines–and organization–unique, while transitioning into more effective operations.
Rich has worked with wineries of all sizes, from small, family-owned start-ups to wineries with international reach and large portfolios. He’s as comfortable establishing a new winery or brand as he is purchasing wineries and bringing them into corporate portfolios.
“Each winery is unique. There is no one-size-fits-all formula. That said, each winery needs to balance their true cost of goods with their pricing model, to develop a team with the expertise and cohesion to work effectively, and to establish business processes that support organizational goals.” –Rich Hanen
Having owned a successful wine sales and marketing firm, I know how to take a brand to market and how to elevate a brand from a start-up to a more established brand.
I’ve done this for 35 years. I know what it takes to run a profitable wine business. I’ll step into the role of General Manager and help you run your business. Differently. So that it runs better and performs better.
RICH HANEN, CEO, ACTING GM
PHASE 1: I’ll assess the situation and define goals.
PHASE 2: I’ll dive deeply into finance, inventory, and management operations to identify areas of opportunity.
PHASE 3: We’ll determine how the operation should continue, and I’ll create a detailed business plan with realistic projections that balances production with marketplace demand at appropriate costs of goods sold.
PHASE 4: I’ll get production, accounting, sales and marketing on the same page–understanding that the winery’s success is the responsibility of the entire organization–and work with them, hand in hand, to execute the plan.
I’ve lead multiple companies to success in the wine business at an executive level. 30+ years of professional senior management experience qualifies me as a high-level manager able to quickly assess your winery’s state of business and respond very quickly with plan to change. I have a proven track record of being trustworthy, honest and authentic. Unlike other consulting options I come to the winery not only with a plan, but I stay on as part of the team to execute the plan.
